Gusty winds, spotty showers and mild temperatures today 4/5/2022
Nebraska is mild this morning in the 40s and 50s thanks to clouds that acted as a blanket last night. This mild start will turn into a mild afternoon with highs in the low to mid-60s, but it will be gloomy today. A weak cold front will push through this afternoon, and while it won’t impact our temperatures, it will increase wind speeds and result in some rain. Spotty light rain showers are possible off and on today, so keep the umbrella nearby just in case you run into one. Wind gusts will increase into the evening and eventually will be around 30 mph. These blustery winds will continue into overnight tonight, but we dry out and temperatures drop back into the 30s. The cold front’s colder air finally starts to dip into Nebraska tomorrow and Thursday with highs falling into the 40s and 50s with very windy conditions. Wind gusts for the rest of the week will easily be above 40 mph, so avoid burning and secure loose outdoor items.
