Hazy couple of days, cooler air near
With winds shifting out of the northwest, smoke from the wildfires in Canada will once again be an issue for a couple of days. High temperatures will climb into the 80s through the weekend and we might get back to 90 on Friday. We’ll are looking at only the 70s next week. There are a few chances for showers and thunderstorms on and off.
So far in Lincoln, we’ve seen 44 days at or above 90 degrees. We haven’t had this few of 90+ degree days since 2019. 2022 saw quite a few 90+ days, but not as many as the record of 82 set in 1936.
Temperatures will NOT be close to 90 Wednesday. We’ll top out around 82 degrees with a hazy/smoke filled sky.
Upper 70s and lower 80s is the expected high on Wednesday across much of Nebraska.
A northwest wind will be dragging down smoke from Canada. A hazy will be in the air much of the day.
Because of the smoke and haze, an Air Quality Alert will be in place through Wednesday into Thursday.
