Heating back up with storm chances
High temperatures will be in the lower 90s the next couple of days and with a dewpoint in the upper 60s and lower 70s, it’s going to be hot AND humid. We cool off quite a bit after Sunday with highs dropping into the 80s for next week and fewer storm chances.
Isolated storms are possible tonight into early Friday morning. Most of us will remain dry, but a couple of isolated strong storms is possible!
Any of those isolated storms that do get going have a chance at being severe. The best chance will be in the yellow Level 2 “Slight Risk”, but everybody in the green Level 1 “Marginal Risk” may see a storm, too.
If we can dodge the severe weather, the rain will be helpful for some. The latest drought monitor has been released and much of eastern Nebraska is still in a Severe to Exceptional drought.
Hot and humid on Friday. Highs will get into the lower 90s by the afternoon. With a dewpoint in the 70s, upper 90s for a heat index is likely.
Upper 80s and lower 90s will be the high for most of us Friday. This is just a little above average for early August.
