Help Lincoln Nurse Recovering From Coma
Heather Luff has woken up from her coma, and the great news is, she's expected to make a full recovery.
More than 150 people came to Down the Hatch Bar and Grill for a silent auction Friday night, and all of the proceeds will go to Heather and her family to help pay for her medical bills.
Heather's friend, who organized the auction, said it's the least she can do to help a friend.
“You know, anything we can do as far as when Heather comes home so she doesn't have to worry about 'Oh gosh, I have to get back to work.' If she can have a little extra cash to help pay some stuff then thatss be a lot easier on the family,” said Becky Mort.
Heather's father said it's hard to talk about all the support he and his family has gotten without getting emotional. “You know they say you find out who your friends are when things are bad but those people have done a lot more than is required,” said John Bailey.
Organizers were hoping to raise at least $4,000 in Friday's auction.
Heather's father said he knows she's getting back to normal because just the other day she asked for two things: her glasses and her cell phone.
