Highlights and scores from second day of Nebraska girls basketball tournament

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The 2023 girls state basketball tournament is underway in Lincoln at both Pinnacle Bank Arena and the Devaney Center.

The tourney began on Wednesday and runs through Saturday, when a champion will be crowned.

Here are Thursday’s results:

Class B

Elkhorn North 60, Norris 40: The Wolves’ Britt Prince scored 28 points and posted 12 rebounds to lead Elkhorn North to the semifinals.

York 38, Scottsbluff 26: The Dukes came alive in the second half to advance to the Class B semifinals. York tied things up at 14 right before halftime, thanks to Kiersten Portwin. The junior guard made five 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 15 points.

Omaha Skutt Catholic 73, Waverly 41: The SkyHawks started the game on a 12-0 run and never looked back.

Sidney 43, Beatrice 37: Sidney got its first state win since 1984 after taking Beatrice to the wire.
