Highs returning near normal to start February

As we head into February, highs will return closer to average. Despite temperatures starting off in the teens and single digits across the area, high temperatures will rise into the 30s on Wednesday. We’re forecasting a high of 37° in Lincoln, which is the average high.

Wednesday Forecast

There will be enough of a wind to make it feel a few degrees cooler, with afternoon wind chill values topping out in the middle and upper-20s. We also expect sunshine to remain with us all day long. There may be a few high clouds that try to drift overhead, but we’ll be dominated by sunshine.

Hour by Hour - Temperatures & Wind Chills

For Thursday, we should be able to reach the middle-30s in Lincoln. However, an area of high pressure will be approaching from the north, bringing slightly cooler air along with it. Whereas we may see upper-30s in southern Nebraska on Thursday, highs may be stuck in the 20s in northeast Nebraska.

Stormcast Temperatures - Thursday Afternoon

We’ve scaled back a little on highs for Friday as a result, but that brief drop in highs will be overshadowed by the big warmup over the weekend. The 40s and 50s return on Saturday and Sunday. Both days this weekend will be very nice, so take your pick to get outside!
