LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Tesla sat charred beyond recognition in a Lincoln garage Monday afternoon.
Lincoln Fire and Rescue (LFR) said the fire started around 12:45 p.m. but didn’t have a cause at the time we spoke with them.
Our reporter on scene reports what appears to be extensive damage done exterior of the home, on Newton St., along with a Tesla completely gutted by the flames.
The next morning, LFR estimated the damage to cost $100,ooo.
“Crews got on location, applied a large amount of water using our deck guns to try and get a knockdown,” Battalion Chief Chad Roof said. “It took a little bit of time, a lot of heat, we did get the fire under control rather quickly.”
The homeowners were not home at the time and pets inside the home were not hurt.
LFR is still investigating the cause of the fire.
We’ll keep you updated as more details become available.
