Husker Collectibles Show makes a return to Lincoln
Husker fans got the chance to buy or sell Husker memorabilia on Sunday as well as get autographs from former players.
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Husker Collectibles Show returned on Sunday. The annual event typically takes place after the Nebraska football spring game. There was no show last year due to the pandemic.
“There’s plenty of us crazy Husker memorabilia collectors out there,” organizer Chase Roesler said. “We all like to sell our stuff to the public and see what we can get. It’s always fun and exciting.”
There were around 10 vendors in this year’s show. Autographed footballs, bobble heads, former athletes’ gear, posters and more were all put on display. Former athletes also signed autographs.
Roesler said Husker fans are excited to have the show back, and over 20 people packed the doors right when they opened in the morning. The event took place at Superior Bingo Hall. Tables were socially distanced and face coverings were required.
One of the most highly anticipated items was a quarter-sized bronze copy of the Tom Osborne and Brook Berringer sculpture outside of Memorial Stadium. Sculptor Fred Hoppe created around 20 mini sculptures. They can be purchased for $5,350 through TeamMates. The profit from the sales will benefit the organization.
