Husker football picked 5th in Big Ten West in preseason poll

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The perception of the national media seems to think it will be another down year for Nebraska football.
The Huskers were picked to finish fifth in the West division in this year’s preseason Big Ten poll. Wisconsin edges Iowa to win the division followed by Minnesota and Illinois. Michigan is the early favorite to in the East division ahead of Ohio State.
Nebraska finished sixth last year in the Big Ten West and hasn’t had a winning season since 2016.
First-year head coach Matt Rhule and three players are headed to Big Ten Media Days in Indianapolis this week. Nebraska opens the season on Aug. 30 at Minnesota. That game kicks off at 7 p.m. on Fox.
