Huskers land Pitt transfer point guard
Trey McGowens committed to Nebraska after averaging 11.6 points his freshman season.
LINCOLN – Fred Hoiberg’s second-year roster makeover continues.
The Huskers landed one of the ACC’s star freshmen via the transfer portal Saturday as Trey McGowens committed to come to Lincoln.
As the current rules stand, McGowens will have to sit out one year before his three remaining years of eligibility.
Rivals.com ranks McGowens as the No. 2 sit-out transfer in the 2020 offseason, joining fellow Nebraska commit Kobe King as top five prospects.
McGowens averaged 11.6 points per game for the Panthers and scored a Pitt school-record 33 points in a win over Louisville last season.
The Huskers will hope to use another new-look roster to rebound from a 7-25 season.
