Huskers remain confident in program ahead of final game in 2020
"Nobody is more anxious than me," said Scott Frost, he lost his 20th game as the Huskers' head coach on Saturday. "We got a lot of guys that are dying to get this right."
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Questions surrounding the Nebraska football program came once again on Monday after the Huskers secured their fourth-straight losing season with a loss to Minnesota last Saturday.
“Nobody is more anxious than me,” said Scott Frost, he lost his 20th game as the Huskers’ head coach on Saturday. “We got a lot of guys that are dying to get this right.”
The players remained confident in Frost and the direction of the program. It’s all about executing and just finding a way to win.
“We’re night and day from now to where we were at the beginning of the year,” said redshirt freshman Casey Rogers. “It’s gonna flip and when that happens, everything that coach has said, everything that we see inside, when that’s exposed to the outside world, it’s going to be a pretty exciting day at Nebraska.”
The Huskers take on Rutgers on Friday during “Championship Week’ in the Big Ten. The game will reunite the Big Red with former quarterback and Wahoo native Noah Vedral, who’s started for the Scarlet Knights most of the season.
“I think he deserved in a lot of ways to be an athlete somewhere,” said Austin Allen, who played basketball with Vedral for 10 years in Nebraska.
The Huskers and Scarlet Knights kickoff at 3:00 p.m. on Friday on the Big Ten Network. Channel 8 will have the “Husker Power Hour” from 2:00-3:00 p.m. on Friday to count you down to kickoff.
