Huskers show out for NFL scouts on pro day

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Scouts from all 32 NFL teams were present at Hawks Championship Center for the Huskers’ pro day.
On Wednesday, 14 players, including Garrett Nelson, Trey Palmer and Travis Vokolek, took part in various drills.
Former defensive coordinator Bill Busch and Philadelphia Eagles center Cam Jurgens, a former Husker, also made appearances.
Pro day was an opportunity for players like Nelson, who were not invited to the NFL combine, to show off their skills in front of scouts.

“Unbelievable athlete, unbelievable human being,” Vokolek said. “One of my best friends on the team and just a very high-character guy.”

Nelson said he got some good feedback from scouts and was happy with how everything went.
“I’d kind of equated it to like a boxer getting ready for a title fight, you know,” Nelson said. “You train for three months and then it’s one day or two hours, you know, so you could put a lot of pressure on yourself.”
