Huskers sweep Delaware State in first round of NCAA Tournament

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Nebraska volleyball swept Delaware State on Thursday night in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

The Huskers had a combined .341 hitting percentage, compared to the Hornets’ -.108, at the Devaney Center.

The first set started out tit-for-tat at the Devaney Center, but NU then went on a 6-1 run to go up 15-9.

And the Huskers dominated from there, winning each set by double digits: 25-15, 25-9, 25-10.

Sophomore outside hitter Lindsay Krause led No. 2 seed Nebraska with 10 kills. Ally Batenhorst added eight, and Madi Kubik had six.

Batenhorst also recorded two aces.

Defensively, Lexi Rodriguez had 19 digs to lead the Huskers.

Waverly native Anni Evans and Kennedi Orr each recorded 10 assists.

With the victory, Nebraska advances to face Kansas in the second round on Friday night.
