AAA Northeast: Gas prices drop 7 cents in Rhode Island

Rhode Island Gas Shoots Up 15 Cents From Last Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — AAA Northeast said Monday that gas prices in Rhode Island dropped an average of seven cents over the last week.

Last week’s average price was $4.48, while this week’s is $4.41.

Monday’s gas prices are 44 cents lower than they were a month ago, and $1.37 higher than they were at this time last year.

Gas in the Ocean State is 20 cents more expensive than the national average.

“We know that most American drivers have made significant changes in their driving habits to cope with high gas prices,” said Lloyd Albert, Senior Vice President of Government and Public Affairs for AAA Northeast.
