Cooley inks multi-year contract extension to stay at Providence College
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Providence College gave men’s basketball coach Ed Cooley a multi-year contract extension Tuesday.
“Providence is my home and Providence is where I want to be,” Cooley said.
Cooley won the Naismith Coach of the Year honors during the 2021-22 season and led the Friars to a Big East regular season title.
Providence made it all the way to the Sweet Sixteen in the 2022 March Madness tournament.
“We had a special season in 2022, and I am excited as we look ahead to this season and the opportunity to compete for another Big East title,” Cooley added.
The Providence native has been the coach of the Friars for 11 seasons.
