Gas Prices Up 7 Cents In Rhode Island

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The average price of gasoline went up 7 cents in Rhode Island this week, according to a Monday report from AAA Northeast.

The average price came to $3.34 per gallon, 26 cents lower than the national average.

“The oil market has had some time to digest the OPEC news and speculate about the reason. This has led to the price of oil stabilizing for now,” said director of Public Affairs for AAA Northeast, Diana Gugliotta. “But the cost of oil accounts for more than 50% of what we pay at the pump, so drivers may not catch a break at the pump any time soon.”

Rhode Island’s average price is 68 cents lower than this time last year.
