Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year Jaylan Gainey Intends to Transfer for Fifth Year

Being named the Defensive Player of the Year for a second-straight season is Brown’s Jaylan Gainey. The senior led the Ivy League and ranked 34th nationally with 2.2 blocks per game and he ranked fifth in the league with 6.9 rebounds per game. Gainey posted a Brown record eight blocks in a win over Columbia on Feb. 26, one of 20 games in which he posted more than one block.
