‘TINA — The Tina Turner Musical’ kicks off in Providence
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — “TINA — The Tina Turner Musical” kicked off at the Providence Performing Arts Center over the weekend.
The show will be at PPAC through Sunday as part of a 30-city tour.
Fans can experience Tina Turner’s triumphant story.
The musical highlights her inspiring journey as she broke barriers and became the “Queen of Rock and Roll.”
Turner has sold more concert tickets than any other solo performer in music history, winning 12 Grammy Awards along the way.
“TINA” is written by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Katori Hall and directed by the internationally acclaimed Phyllida Lloyd.
Naomi Rodgers and Zurin Villanueva are sharing the lead role of Tina Turner, each performing in four of the eight shows each week.
