Tropical Update-4th Named Storm this season, possible 1st Hurricane

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – Finally, the 4th named tropical system in 2022 in the Atlantic. Tropical Storm Colin in mid-July was the last named system until Tropical Storm Danielle today.

Danielle has winds of 60 MPH and is spinning around in the Atlantic Ocean. Danielle poses no threat to the lower 48, including Southern New England.

Danielle is forecast to strengthen and could become the 1st hurricane of the 2022 Atlantic hurricane season. Tropical Storm Danielle will move very little the next 4-5 days, essentially just spinning in a circle in the middle of the ocean.
