Volunteers begin set up for Boots on the Ground memorial in Newport

NEWPORT, R.I. (WLNE) — About 100 volunteers started setting up the Boots on the Ground memorial ahead of Memorial Day.
The volunteers gathered at Fort Adams at 9 a.m. Tuesday to start setting up.
Families will gather to place the boots of the Rhode Island Fall at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
The Rhode Island National Guard will play a patriotic concert at 5 p.m. Sunday.
