Woonsocket officers to run to Washington for National Police Week

WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — Woonsocket officers will begin a run to Washington, D.C., for National Police Week on Tuesday.
Chief Thomas Oates said 13 members of the department will start their run from the police station at 9 a.m.
The department is looking to raise funds for families of officers who have been killed in the line of duty.
A series of events for officers and families of fallen officers is held during National Police Week at the Capitol each year.
