Increasing storm chances, remaining cool
Temperatures will struggle for the next few days and in July, that’s not a bad thing! Precipitation chances are out there for Friday, but we dry up as we head into the weekend.
There’s a chance for some strong storm in the western half of the state tonight. Not everybody will see storms, but those that do, may see some hail and damaging wind.
Because of the threat for hail and damaging wind, there is a Marginal and Slight Risk for the western half of the state tonight.
The chance for storms moves east by Friday morning. Some of these storms may be strong, as well.
Because of the overall chance for storms across the state on Friday, there is a level 1 “Marginal Risk” for severe storms across the state. This means one or two storms may be strong or severe.
We need the rain… still! Even though we’ve see quite a bit of rain over the last week, we are still in the Extreme to Exceptional Drought for much of the eastern half of the state.
Because of the rain chance and extra cloud cover Friday, it’ll be well below normal for highs!
