24th COVID-19 death reported in Lancaster County
Officials on Monday announced another COVID-19 death in Lancaster County.
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Officials on Monday announced another COVID-19 death in Lancaster County.
The death, a man in his 50s who had been hospitalized, was an inmate at the State Penitentiary, officials said.
Officials also announced 76 new cases, bringing the community total to 5,774. More than 2,200 county residents have recovered from the virus.
The overall positivity rate for Lancaster County rose slightly from 8% to 8.1%. The state rate also rose from 9.6% to 9.7%.
A total of 43 people were hospitalized with COVID-19 in Lancaster County (15 of them county residents). Three of the patients were on ventilators.
Symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough, shortness of breath, repeated shaking with chills, repeated muscle pain, headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell.
Testing is now open to all Lancaster County residents.
