Strong storms expected out west tonight 8/19/2021

Temperatures are slowly warming into the low 80s across southeast Nebraska with partly cloudy skies. Clouds will gradually build in by the afternoon and there is a very small chance for a few isolated showers and thunderstorms. Most of the area will likely stay dry, but bring the rain gear with you just in case. High temperatures for most will top out in the upper 80s today with humid conditions. The southerly breeze is back for today before it switches out of the northwest tomorrow thanks to a cold front.

This cold front will give us a better chance for rain early tomorrow morning and late in the evening. The chance for evening thunderstorms tomorrow shows the potential for a few strong to severe storms. Large hail, gusty winds and a few tornadoes are all likely anytime around 7 PM in eastern Nebraska.
