Kearney County deputies investigating fatal crash in central Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Kearney County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deadly two-vehicle crash in central Nebraska.

Just after 7:30 a.m. Monday, deputies were sent to the intersection of Highway 10 and Fort Kearney Road.

When deputies arrived, they found a white Ford F-250 pickup and a tan GMC SUV with extensive damage.

According to the sheriff’s office, the GMC was headed north on Highway 10, and the pickup was driving east on the 50-A Link when the two collided in the intersection.

The driver of the GMC was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the sheriff’s office.

The driver and passenger of the pickup were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash investigation is ongoing.
