Lancaster County reports its 33rd coronavirus death

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Today, the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department (LLCHD) has announced the community’s 33rd coronavirus death.

The individual was a man in his 50’s who had underlying health conditions and was hospitalized at the time.

LLCHD also announced a staggering 111 new cases of COVID-19, bringing to total case number to 7,825.

The number of recoveries is up, as well, to 3,439.

The county’s positivity rate was raised from 8.6% to 8.7%, while Nebraska’s remains at 10.3%.

Local hospitals reported 48 COVID-19 patients, 23 of which are Lancaster County residents (2 on ventilators).

Symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough, shortness of breath, repeated shaking with chills, repeated muscle pain, headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell.
