Large wildfire forces evacuations in central Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A large wildfire in Dawson County forced people out of there homes late Thursday and early Friday.

The National Weather Service in Hastings issued the evacuation order for the town of Farnam, Neb. and other people in southwest Dawson County.

The Frontier County Sheriff’s Office said residents are urged to go to Eustis Public High School. The main gym is available for all evacuees, according to the district.

It’s unknown at this time how many acres the blaze has burned. We know it’s burned for a while now near Gothenburg.
