Latest push to legalize medical marijuana kicks off in Lincoln
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Nebraskans for Medical Marijuana kicked off its latest attempt to legalize the drug on Wednesday.
The group is looking to build support for a 2024 ballot initiative. Backers say they came so close in the past, despite losing a major donor.
This is the group’s third petition effort.
Back in 2020, opponents, led by Lancaster County Sheriff Terry Wagner, filed a lawsuit.
They argued that the measure posed two separate questions, violating the state constitution.
