LFR determines northwest Lincoln home a total loss after fire

LFR determined the house as a total loss with damages valued at $100,000.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln Fire and Rescue has determined a northwest Lincoln home a total loss after a Tuesday night fire.

LFR Captain Nancy Crist says the two adults and child who lived at the home made it out safely but their dog died in the fire. The residents have been relocated by Red Cross.

Around 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday, LFR crews responded to the house fire at 228 NW 22nd Street. Crews arrived and reported heavy fire, according to Crist.

Crews began to extinguish the fire from the exterior of the home and the fire crews rotated to “fire watch” overnight due to the unstable structure and the inability to remove combustibles from the house.

LFR determined the house as a total loss with damages valued at $100,000.
