Lincoln 3rd grader creates & hands out flyers to save local restaurant

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – After our story aired on a local business struggling to survive, a Lincoln 3rd grader decided to step up and hand out homemade flyers at her school.
8-year-old Kendall Craig, a 3rd grader at Kahoa Elementary School, heard about our story on the Taste of Louisiana in library class.
Becca Craig, Kendall’s mom, said her teacher showed them the piece about the restaurant that was hanging on by a thread.
Kendall came home from school determined to save the locally owned business.
Kendall created flyers, from scratch, with the Taste of Lousiana logo.
The 8-year-old took them door to door, handed them out to adults at her school, and asked her mother to share the flyer on Facebook.
The post got the attention of the Taste of Lousiana owner, Pokey Black.
Kendall was able to meet Pokey at the restaurant so he could thank her in person. She also got the chance to try some of the southern cuisine.
Kendall’s drawing now hangs on the wall in the Taste of Lousiana.
