Lincoln Christian earns victory over Archbishop Bergan

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Lincoln Christian earned its second win of the season at home on Friday with a 39-20 victory over Archbishop Bergan.

The game was back and forth to start the first half.

Early in the first quarter, Christian got on the board thanks to a big run by senior running back Jhared Alvarez.

Archbishop responded right away with a deep pass completed to receiver Kade McIntyre.

Both teams missed their extra point attempts, tying the game at 6.

Shortly after, the Crusaders got back on top with a goal line run by running back Dane Omel, putting them up 13-6.

But the Knights responded just before halftime, as receiver Dawson Pruss scored off a pass from quarterback Cooper Weitzel.

Christian hung on in the second half to come away with a decisive win.

The Crusaders will hit the road next Friday to take on Arlington.

Archbishop Bergan will look for a bounce-back win at home against West Holt.
