LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A child abuse case against a Lincoln day care provider took a step forward Wednesday.

Tiffany Frye, 46, waived her preliminary hearing in Lancaster County Court, and a judge bound the case over to district court.

Frye is charged with intentional child abuse.

She provided child care out of her southeast Lincoln home, according to court documents. The address matches one listed for Tiny Toes Infant Care.

On Sept. 18, Fry got frustrated when putting a 4-month-old boy in a baby glider, according to court documents.

He wouldn’t straighten his legs, and police said Fry pulled too hard on one of them, making a popping sound.

The baby was crying for the rest of the day, according to an arrest affidavit.

Police said that made Frye even more frustrated.

Shen then intentionally put the baby down too hard on a changing table, the affidavit says, causing a head injury.

The baby’s mother later noticed that her son’s leg was limber, so she took him to a Lincoln hospital.

Doctors discovered that he had a fractured femur and a subdural hematoma in his head.

The boy had to be transferred to the children’s hospital in Omaha, police said.

Frye is scheduled to be arraigned in Lancaster County District Court on April 30.
