Lincoln fills semi truck of diapers for Ukraine

Tom Barber of People's City Mission praises locals' generosity

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A truckload of diapers is going to Ukraine thanks to the generosity of Lincoln residents.

The People’s City Mission started collecting diaper donations two weeks ago.

Pastor Tom Barber said he was told by the relief agency Convoy of Hope that diapers are one of the biggest needs of people in Ukraine.

“We filled the entire semi with diapers, incredible,” Barber said. “Thousands and thousands of diapers, and I can’t say enough for how proud I am of this community for what they’ve done. There are going to be so many infants and moms in Ukraine that have been so blessed by what’s going on here.”

The diaper drive was supposed to end this Friday, but Barber told Channel 8 that the mission received so many diapers that it has to send another truck.

If you’d like to contribute, you can drop off diapers at the mission’s Help Center at 6800 P St. until next Friday.
