Lincoln man has a bone to pick with, well, boneless chicken wings
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Why is “saucy nugs” trending? It’s all because of what a Lincoln man said during a city council meeting Monday.
Ander Christensen was no chicken when it came to confronting this taboo- boneless chicken wings.
Christensen had a bone to pick with the meal’s, well, lack of bones.
“Boneless chicken wings are just chicken tenders, which are already boneless. I don’t go and order boneless tacos. I don’t go and order boneless club sandwiches, I don’t ask for boneless auto-repair. It’s just what’s expected.”
Christensen even asserts this mindset is negatively affecting our kids.
“Children are raised to be afraid of having bones attached to their meat. That’s where meat comes from!”
He proposed we rename the imposter chicken wings to ‘buffalo-style chicken tenders’, ‘wet tenders’, ‘saucy nugs’, or ‘trash’. Christensen says it’s important we realize that we have been living a lie, as “… we know it because we feel it in our bones.”
After his proposal’s conclusion, one council member, Roy Christensen, asked for the record to reflect that the bone-in chicken wing advocate is his son.
The ruffled feathers might have stayed right here in Lincoln if it hadn’t been for Rex Chapman who tweeted the wing words and now more than 5 million people have viewed it.
Finally, someone with guts.
