Lincoln Police: Four injured in overnight shooting

Lincoln Police are investigating a shooting that hospitalized four people early Tuesday morning. 

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Four people were injured in an overnight shooting near 27th and Vine Streets on Tuesday, Lincoln Police say.

Around 12:27 a.m., officers responded to the area after several gunshots were heard.  During this time, a witness reported seeing a dark vehicle was seen leaving the area, according to police.

When officers arrived, they found evidence of gunshots but they were unable to find anyone with injuries.

Around the same time, four people arrived at a local hospital with gunshot wounds, police say.

A 15, 23 and 36-year-old were treated for gunshot wounds at the hospital and have since been released.

A 27-year-old man is still in the hospital in critical condition with multiple gunshot wounds, according to police.

No arrests have been made at this time, police say.  They are continuing to process the scene and gather forensic evidence.

Officers have also been searching the area for video evidence to help them in their investigation.  Police ask that people avoid the area as investigators continue to work.
