Woman accused of second-degree assault in north Lincoln stabbing

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A woman was arrested early Wednesday morning in a stabbing at a north Lincoln apartment complex.

Around 1:30 a.m., officers were sent to Waterbrook Apartments near 27th and Superior streets on a report of a stabbing.

When officers arrived, they found a 35-year-old victim with stab wounds to his abdomen, police said.

The victim was talking with two women in the apartment when he made a comment about a boyfriend who recently died, according to police.

One of the women quickly approached the victim, and he pushed her to the ground.

As he was trying to help her back up, he was stabbed in the stomach by the other woman, 38-year-old Brittany Borrell, police said.

She was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault and use of a weapon to commit a felony.

The victim had injuries that were not life-threatening.
