Lincoln Police issue 145 citations, warnings after distracted driving enforcement project

Officers placed in high-accident intersections gave 145 warnings and citations between April 1st and April 17th.

The Lincoln Police Department announced Monday results from a recent red light and distracted driving detail.

The project placed additional officers around high accident intersections to watch for red-light violations between April 1st and 17th.

The results of this project are as follows: Total Citations/Warnings/Arrests 145

  • Traffic Signal Citations- 48
  • Traffic Signal Warnings- 25
  • Stop Sign Citations- 1
  • Seatbelt Citations- 10
  • Seatbelt Warnings- 1
  • Child Restraint Citations- 1
  • No Insurance Citations- 7
  • No Insurance Warnings- 4
  • No Valid Registration Citations- 7
  • No Valid Registration Warnings- 2
  • Other Traffic Violations- 13
