Lincoln radio DJ savors another year as announcer at ACM Awards
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — If you watched the Academy of Country Music Awards on Thursday, you may have heard a familiar voice.
Brooke Summers, a DJ on Froggy 98 in Lincoln, announced the names of the presenters and nominees for each category.
It was her second year in a row as the voice-over announcer.
Summers said it was a shock last year when she was asked to apply.
“I just started at Froggy 98, and I was sent an email asking me to audition for the role,” she said. “And initially, I thought it was a joke. I thought I was being pranked as the newbie in town.”
Summers said it was great to be in the presence of incredible country artists, especially the legendary Dolly Parton.
She hopes to be invited back next year.
