Lincoln woman who killed two with car sent to psychiatric hospital for evaluation

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Lincoln woman who fatally ran over two men with her car will undergo another psychiatric evaluation.

A judge found on Tuesday that Taylor Bradley poses a danger to herself and others and will for “the foreseeable future,” according to court documents.

So Lancaster County District Court Judge Ryan Post ordered her to be evaluated at the Lincoln Regional Center, a mental hospital.

She will stay there for 90 days while doctors come up with a treatment plan.

On March 27, 2023, Bradley intentionally ran over two men at The Lodge apartment complex at 40th Street and Nebraska Parkway.

Christopher Karmazin and Ronald Gonzalez Rivas, who were both maintenance workers at the complex, died.

Bradley also tried to run over a third worker, Robert Sargent, who was traumatized by what he saw.

Over the next year, Bradley was evaluated multiple times before she was found mentally competent to stand trial.

Last month, Bradley was found not responsible by reason of insanity for the killings.

Post ruled that she “was experiencing prominent delusions, a manic episode, and psychosis,” so she didn’t understand the consequences of her actions.

Bradley will stay at the Lancaster County Jail until there is an opening at the psychiatric hospital, the judge said.
