Woman intentionally hit, killed two men with vehicle in south Lincoln, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A woman was arrested Monday after police say she hit and killed two men with her car in south Lincoln.

Before 1:30 p.m., officers were sent to an apartment complex near 40th Street and Nebraska Parkway on a report of two men being hit by a vehicle.

When officers arrived, they found two men in their 40s who were dead, according to Police Chief Teresa Ewins.

Shortly after, officers nearby arrested a 27-year-old woman on suspicion of two counts of second-degree murder.

Ewins said the woman, who has not yet been identified, “purposely” located the victims and ran them over.

“This is more complex than one would think,” Ewins said. “We need to really find out the purpose, the reason why she did what she did.”

An investigation is ongoing, and officers are interviewing witnesses. Ewins said there is no ongoing threat to the public.

Anyone with information is asked to call Lincoln Police at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
