Lincoln woman’s car found totaled four minutes after being stolen in armed robbery

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Two teens were arrested in Omaha in connection to the armed robbery of a vehicle in Lincoln and multiple drive-by shootings in Omaha, Lincoln Police say.

On Saturday at 2:53 p.m., a 29-year-old woman was parking her 2022 Mazda CX-9 when a red Ford Fusion pulled up next to her.

A man wearing a face mask and armed with a rifle approached the victim’s vehicle.  He then threatened to break the vehicle’s window if the woman did not open the door, police say.

After the woman opened the door and exited her car the man took off.  According to police, the driver of the Ford also fled from the scene.

Four minutes later, the victim’s car was found totaled near North 27th Street and Cornhusker Highway.  The driver of the Mazda ran away from the crash and was picked up by an unknown vehicle.

During a follow-up investigation, Lincoln Police found that the Ford was also stolen.

Omaha police say the vehicle was involved in multiple drive-by shootings.

On Sunday, Omaha Police arrested two 17-year-olds after a drive-by shooting.  The department also recovered a Glock handgun and an AR-style pistol.
