Lots and lots of heat with a few storms
It’s going to get hot this weekend. Triple digits are likely and with high humidity expected, the heat index will be very high, as well. Because of that, heat related weather headlines are in place starting with a Heat Advisory for Saturday.
Storms will be possible early on Saturday, then the sky will clear out and we’ll see lots of sunshine by the afternoon.
On Saturday, the temperature will climb into the 90s to around 100 degrees.
The dew point will be near 70 degrees. That’s tropical!
With all of that in place, the heat index will be well into the 100s.
Then on Sunday, it’s more of the same, and a little more. Highs will be in the lower 100s, then back to around 100 on Monday.
Heat Advisories are in place for Sunday for much of the state. An Excessive Heat Watch is in place for eastern Nebraska. I’m very sure we’ll see either a Heat Advisory or Excessive Heat Warning for all of eastern Nebraska by Sunday afternoon.
This lingers into Monday with additional warnings or advisories likely.
Know the signs!
Here is the difference between a Heat Advisory and an Excessive Heat Warning.
