LPD: Alcohol likely involved in fatal crash Sunday

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — On Sunday, just before 8:00 a.m., Lincoln Police were called to a rollover accident at I-80’s 403 exit, near 27th Street.

They found a blue Ford Mustang had rolled westbound onto the ramp, the vehicle had been heading west on 27th towards I-80. The driver was identified as 25-year-old Connor Altenhofen of Chariton, Iowa. He was thrown from the car and died on scene. His passenger, a 43-year-old female, was found with minor injures, and declined medical treatment.

After gathering witness statements and evidence from the scene, Lincoln Police report that speed and alcohol appear to be factors, and the vehicle occupants did not appear to be wearing seat belts. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
