Authorities arrested a man they say threatened to light an occupied house on fire.

Lincoln police officers responded Monday night to a home in the 2400 block of N. 63rd St. on reports the man had guns, a gas can and a lighter and was threatening to kill people.

Officers saw the man – identified by police as 54-year-old Michael Glade – go inside the home with the gas can and lighter, police said. Officers worked to get a woman out of the home before confronting Glade, police said. Two children had already fled to a neighboring home by the time officers arrived.

When they came back to the home, officers saw large flames in the back yard. When they tried to contact Glade, he charged at them, police said. Officers deployed a Taser and Glade was taken into custody for three counts of terroristic threats.

Police say the flames were from a fire that had started in a fire pit. No damage was done to the home and no injuries were reported.
