LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Nebraska women’s basketball sophomore guard Makenzie Helms has left the program for personal reasons.

“We wish Kenzie well in her future endeavors,” Nebraska coach Amy Williams said in a statement. “Our team is looking forward to opening Big Ten play against Illinois on Thursday.”

Helms saw limited action as a freshman for the Huskers, but played in both games to start this season as a sophomore. She played 15 minutes and scored 10 points in Nebraska’s season opening win against Oral Roberts.
