Joel Martinez, 39, is charged with aiding and abetting first-degree assault, which is a felony, according to police.

Another person involved in the stabbing, which sent one person to the hospital in critical condition, is still at large.

The stabbing happened around 1:30 a.m. at Lil’ Risky sports bar near 27th and Superior streets.

When officers arrived on scene, they found a 36-year-old man with stab wounds.

Witnesses said the man was stabbed multiple times after a fight, according to police.

Phillip Mays, the bar’s general manager, said the two men were only at the bar a few minutes before the stabbing happened.

“They lightly talked to each other and then as they walked out the door, one gentleman stabbed the other gentleman,” he said. “My security jumped on top of him right away and covered his neck.”

The victim was taken to a hospital, where police said he was in critical condition.

Anyone with information is asked to call LPD at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
