Man finds stolen truck at Lincoln car wash, driver flees on foot

Lincoln Police were unable to find the thief after he fled on foot. The investigation is currently ongoing.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln Police are investigating an incident at a Lincoln car wash after a man attempted to contact the driver of his stolen truck.

On Thursday, Lincoln Police received a call to the Jet Splash Car Wash at 3800 S. 9th St. on a weapons violation.

A 38-year-old man saw his 1997 Ford F-150 truck at the car wash. The man told police the truck was stolen on November 7.

The man contacted the driver of the truck and explained to the driver that the vehicle was his.

The driver pulled out a handgun and threatened to shoot the man after he told him that he was calling the police.

The driver then fled the area on foot, according to LPD. Officers arrived searched the surrounding area and could not find the driver.

Officers searched the vehicle for evidence and are seeking security footage, Lincoln Police say the investigation is currently ongoing.
