Man reported for LARPing in Pioneers Park
A misunderstanding in a Lincoln park leads to a citation.
LINCOLN, Neb. — Tuesday night, around 7:30, Lincoln Police were called to Pioneers Park, in the area of W. Van Dorn and S. Coddington Ave. on a report of of a man playing with a handgun.
Witnesses say he was in dress clothes and a suit jacket, looking distraught. Officers cleared everyone out of the area before contacting the individual- only to find the ‘handgun’ was an airsoft gun.
The 22-year-old man explained he was in the are of live action role play. He was cited and released for carrying a toy gun in Lincoln city limits and for weapons being prohibited in the park area.
