A 34-year-old Lincoln man reported he was scammed to Lincoln Police Wednesday.

The victim had been working with a company called Global Logistics over the internet, and thought he was going to work for them handling customer accounts, police said.

The company sent him a check for $1,740 and he was told to deposit the check into his bank account and then mail $1,650 to an address in Los Angeles.

Police said he was under the impression this was part of his job description.

He was later notified by his bank that the check he deposited was fraudulent.
