Man sent to prison for DUI crash that killed two in Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Lincoln man was sentenced Wednesday for driving drunk and killing two people.

Grabiel Revilla got 19 to 20 years in prison for one count of manslaughter.

The 35-year-old was also sentenced to 60 days for DUI. His driver’s license will be revoked for six months.

Early in the morning of April 14, 2024, Revilla was driving an SUV near Pine Lake Road and 28th Street.

Police said the vehicle went off the road, rolled and hit a tree.

Both of Revilla’s passengers — 23-year-old Omar Rios and 21-year-old Darien Rosales — were pronounced dead at the scene.

Rosales was ejected, according to police.

Revilla was found unconscious in the driver’s seat and taken to a hospital.

Court documents say Revilla was speeding and had a blood alcohol content level of 0.119%. That’s about 1.5 times the legal limit.

One count of manslaughter was dropped under a plea deal.

With credit for more than a year served behind bars, Revilla will be eligible for parole in about nine years.
